Family Play Support

I believe that play should be both safe and appropriately challenging, allowing children to develop their skills and confidence through managed risk. My family services are designed to help you declutter toy chaos, create intentional play spaces, and strengthen your connection with your child through meaningful play experiences.

How I can help your family

Through bespoke one-to-one consultations, I provide hands-on support to:

  • Declutter toy chaos and create functional play spaces which might not look like Pinterest inspo images, but work for your family

  • Identify unsafe toys and remove potential hazards from your home

  • Recognise your child's unique play signals to better respond to their needs and build connection

  • Establish simple systems for school days, holidays or any other situation to reduce overwhelm

  • Design play environments that balance safety with appropriate challenge

  • Strengthen parent-child bonds through attachment-focused play techniques

All consultations are tailored to your family's specific needs, living space, and your child's developmental stage.

Let's first talk over a cuppa

We are all busy, but we can always find a quick half an hour to meet with a family and get to know each other. I would love to hear a few stories of how play works in your home and maybe what you would like to see in the future for your family. I am not an expert in all things, and that is why I don't shy away from recommending others who might support you with other aspects of parenting, development or education. Whatever the result, I never had a dull or unproductive call with a family. Send me a message and we can arrange a call, a walk or a visit.

Real support for real families

Parents come to me when they're feeling overwhelmed by toy clutter and confused by contradictory advice online. If you're drowning in plastic, struggling to find space in your home, or feeling guilty about toys that never get played with, you're not alone. Many families I work with want to create meaningful play experiences but aren't sure where to start. Often what works for social media views doesn't translate well to your dynamic home and your unique child.

Over the years, I've rolled up my sleeves and helped families in all sorts of ways:

  • Sat cross-legged on living room floors, sorting through mountains of toys while children napped

  • Made tea and offered tissues after those days when everyone's had a meltdown (including the parents)

  • Scripted exactly what to say to well-meaning grandparents before birthday season (you've guessed it, they did not need another giant dinosaur..)

  • Held furniture steady while parents secured wobbly shelves to walls

  • Played toy detective to find that one lost toy that's been causing tears for three days straight

  • Rediscovered the joy of play with parents who'd forgotten how to be silly and spontaneous

  • Navigated toy shops with overwhelmed families, steering them away from the marketing hype toward toys with actual play value

  • Created peace treaties between siblings arguing over the same toy for the fifth time that day

  • Transformed into the Toy Fairy to help children select toys they've outgrown for donation (with much less drama than when parents suggest it)

  • Built pillow forts that actually stay up for more than 30 seconds

  • Rescued toys from the backs of cupboards and showed how they could be played with in completely new ways

This isn't just about organising toys, it's about being there for those real, sometimes messy moments that make up family life with young children.
